Job Duties:
 
  • Promote & maintain a safe working environment for the team & adhere to the company’s safety policies and procedures
  • Creating and modifying Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs for our drive systems for renewable energy, Oil & Exploration, power generation, marine transportation, and other industrial applications
  • Testing of equipment in our factories and at the customer sites
  • Evaluating new order entry documents and customer specifications to procure the proper materials, create the proper design electrical schematics, bill of materials, mechanical documentation, and other required documentation for release to manufacturing
  • Communicate design information and work effectively as a team with manufacturing personnel
  • Coordinate projects by controlling the schedules, budgets, interfacing to customers, and overall project management from order entry to customer acceptance
  • Interface with customer and vendors
  • Support field service (training and occasional travel)
  • Resolve system issues, which may result from software, mechanical stress,  electrical connections, or design
  • Professionally document plans and results, present findings and recommendations
  • General familiarity with electric motors and drive systems
  • General familiarity with PLC programming and hardware
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of multiple, widely used programmable logic controller (PLC) lines
  • Ladder logic instructions
  • File structure, program organization
  • Documentation (Instruction, rung, section)
  • PID (Proportional, integral, derivative)
  • System documentation
  • Functional requirements specifications
  • Sequence operation
  • User manual/user requirements specifications
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of human-machine 
  •   interface (HMI) 
    -Object types
    -Screen Layouts
    -Use of color
    -Animation
    -Alarms
    -Scripting
     
  • Exposure to various communications protocols/systems:
    -DeviceNet
    -ControlNet
    -Ethernet
    -Modbus
    -Serial
    -Profibus
     
  • Knowledge of NEC codes, NFPA codes, IEC codes, etc.
    -IEC 61131-3 PLC programming structured text (ST) and ladder (LD)
    -Exposure or expertise in other programming languages would be a plus such as C/C+, VB and Java.
     
Job Requirements:
 
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology or equivalent
  • 10 or more years experience & proven track record in industry
  • Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills
  • Advanced electrical knowledge
  • Good general engineering background where experience with any of the following are a plus: diagnostics, data analysis, software development or testing electronics analog or digital, Ethernet, routers, oscilloscopes,  simulation tools such as simplorer
  • Good written and verbal communication, including strong interpersonal skills and ability to take the initiative
  • Exposure to oil-field operations, power generation, or marine transportation a plus
  • Exposure to solar and or wind power industries a plus
  • Ability to read and understand drawings for electrical controls and mechanical parts
  • Ability to travel nationally or internationally as needed
